Fully funded IDB Summer Internship Program 2019




ELIGIBLE NATIONALITY

The IDB Summer Internship Program 2019 are available to international students who are citizens of IDB Member countries. Read also if you wish to study outside your home country Simple and Detailed Answers about Applying and Winning a Scholarship.

Scholarship Number

The number of offer in IDB Summer Internship Program 2019 is 40. Its selection criteria is strictly based on merit and fulfillment of the eligible criteria.

Eligibility for Scholarship

Eligibility for IDB Summer Internship Program 2019 is considered according to the intern categories;

Junior Summer Intern

  • A current third year undergraduate student, or beyond, working towards a Bachelor’s degree or Licenciatura, in an accredited university.
  • Must have graduated by August 15th.
  • Proficient in at least one of the IDB’s official languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French), preferably with a working knowledge of a second one.
  • Under 25 years of age as of January 1st.
  • Individuals who self-identify as Indigenous people and/or Afro-descendants from IDB member countries must be under 27 years of age as of January 1st, 2018.

Regular Summer Intern

  • A current student working towards a Master or Doctorate degree in an accredited university.
  • Must have graduated by August 15th.
  • Proficient in at least one of the IDB’s official languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French), preferably with a working knowledge of a second one.
  • Under 31 years of age as of January 1st, 2018.
  • Individuals who self-identify as Indigenous people and/or Afro-descendants from IDB member countries must be under 33 years of age as of January 1st, 2018.

Other eligibility criteria include:

  • Only citizens of one of 48 member countries are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates hired in the past under any other employment modality of the IDB do not qualify.
  • Applicants who have family members or close relatives working at the IDB are not eligible. This restriction applies to candidates within and including the 4th degree of consanguinity and the 2nd degree of affinity.

IDB Summer Internship Program

The IDB Internship Program provides around 40 graduate and undergraduate university students from across the globe with the ability to understand creation labor and corporate direction at the IDB, Interns will get first-hand work experience, either working directly with teams coordinating development endeavors or together with teams at our corporate or strategic centre for example science, communications and legal. All of internships happen at IDB Headquarters in Washington DC, USA.

Scholarship Benefit

Interns will be given a stipend for living costs. But they’re in charge of the expense related to their traveling expenses to/from Washington, DC, in addition to for providing proof of health policy through the length of the internship.
